I think all of us who are honest with ourselves know and will admit salvation means being perfect in the sight of God, but not in reality.
Breath of fresh air, finally someone gets it.
Many Christians believe they will be demigods in heaven and many believe they will always be 100% perfect.
Can you imagine a heaven without some grumpy people. Have you ever known a person to never be a little grumpy? Heaven would be very odd if all were always 'pleasant' and 'cheerful'. Its unnatural.
It's His Grace that see's us in Christ, He see's the perfection in Christ and we are in Christ.
Agreed!!
Let's get to the bottom of this sin in heaven thing!
Paul tells us at the rapture/resurrection we become immortal, and incorruptible. 1 Cor. 15:51-58.
Incorruptible means no more sin nature, we receive a glorified body without sin, just as Jesus had at His resurrection.
All the corruption in this world has come from the sin of man, the results of that sin is pain for all of mankind.
Rev. 21:4
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
Notice John said "there will be no more pain." the only way for man to have no more pain is there to be no more sin!
"For the former things are passed away" is referring to the results of sin, there is no more of it. Sin is gone forever with God!
Agree with some, disagree with some.
1. We may receive a new body as Jesus did, but we are not Jesus. Putting on incoruptable does not eqaute to us not being able to sin. It means our body will not suffer the consequence of sin.
2. There will be no death as there will be no murderers in heaven. No murder ever! When Paul was saved he never went back to murdering Christians. The only sins that will be impossible to commit are mortal sins. Mortal sins point to a love of what is evil that is impossible for a true Christian to have in an environment like heaven.
But venial sins. Different story. Venial sins will be committed but we will be quick to repent. They will not make anyone cry, die or have sorrow. But it will make some not want to live next to others. Not all in heaven are as good as Job for example. Not all in heaven are on the same level of devotion to God. Must they all go to hell? Will God force them to be 10/10 devotion. Is 9/10 devotion not evidence of rebellion / sin? As 1 Cor 6:3 explains, we will judge angels in heaven. So it is possible to be guilty of a rebellion in heaven. Now lets not beat around the bush and just call a rebellion to God, sin. As God is perfectly good in all He says and does.
3. I find sorrow a bit interesting. See God is not one who will remove our thoughts or ability to rebel to Him. But in heaven with a 'better' renewed mind, we will better grasp the A-Z of sins and not let it affect us. Similarly, when we look at those suffering in hell, we will not weep as we will understand and agree with the punishment God is dishing out.
