What is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?

At the rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the second coming, believers return with the Lord to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

The second coming occurs after the great and terrible tribulation (Revelation chapters 6–19). The rapture occurs before the tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10).

The rapture is the removal of believers from the earth as an act of deliverance (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 5:9). The second coming includes the removal of unbelievers as an act of judgment (Matthew 24:40-41).

That is great verse in PROV 16:2
For the Lord does know

Yes, it is great and very true including the first part. We, all of us believe we are right or we would change in order to correct our errors, our own blind spots. The exception to this is when a person really does hear God's voice even as it applies to his own self.

When we are unwilling to hear something that opposes what we believe, we may well be limiting God and stunting our own growth in the things of God:

"He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30

Matthew 26:67-68
Mark 15:16-20
Luke 23: 34-37

That is great verse in PROV 16:2
For the Lord does know
Yes and i will add the word of God is not concealed
The word of God makes clear the rapture will not occur until after the man of sin is revealed.
Anyone who argues with the clear teaching Given by St Paul is a liar.

You will never correct your blind spots if you refuse to heed the word of God.
The apostasy occurs And the man of sin is revealed BEFORE The return of Christ and our gathering together to him, NOT after!
All the work of the false occurs to destroy the church and put it into apostasy so as to try and destroy mens souls , BEFORE AND NOT AFTER THE REDEMPTION OF OUR BODIES.
Deception is impossible AFTER GLORIFICATION OF THE CHURCH
THE OBJECT OF SATANS DECEPTION IS THE CHURCH! And satan knows he has but a short time to try and do it, so he sends the the man if sin the pope the beast king to deceive the whole world.
This beast king kills the saints, as he did, 100 million of them.
The rapture did not happen then and will not happen until the resurrection of those dead saints who were murdered AT THE ORDERS OF THE MAN OF SIN.

Do you want to argue with me? I am really not wanting to be argumentative. I simply want to walk with the Lord. Don't you?

We don't win people to God, not really. Only God gives any increase and that only to open hearts. If a heart is not open only the person whose heart it is can open it. We always have the ability to limit God. God gave us that. We have to learn to give it back to Him.

Let's not spend too much time giving the devil his due. Let us rather trust God who will lead us if we will allow ourselves to be led by Him.

Walking with the Lord is not accomplished by lies
You refuse What the word of God teaches on this subject yet talk of open hearts.
May God help you to repent and stop rebelling against his words.
And that goes for all of you posting on this subject who promote lies against the clear teachings of st paul.

Amadeus you rebuked with these words

"All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits." Prov 16:2

The word of God is NOT unclean.

Amadeus My daddy always said "You cannot win an argument with an ignorant person." So you have to decide whether to continue or keep your peace. Choices choices. :)

I'm not naming anyone as ignorant but if a person refuses to even consider your point, why belabor it?

The word of God is not ignorant either.

Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, brothers,
Concerning the very subject of this thread

2 Thessalonians 2 Berean Study Bible

Amadeus you rebuked with these words

"All the eyesways of a man are clean in his own ; but the LORD weigheth the spirits." Prov 16:2

The word of God is NOT unclean.

Oh Amadeus! You scoundrel! :D Why would you say a thing like that?

Actually Listening Amadeus did not say Gods Word is unclean. He said "Every man is right in his own eyes, But God weighs and examines the motives and intents [of the heart and knows the truth

the coming.—Literally, for the sake of the coming, just as in English we adjure persons to do a thing “for God’s sake.” It is a stronger form of adjuration than the simple “by,” inasmuch as it implies that the thing or person adjured by will suffer if the action be left unperformed. The Coming of Christ and the meeting with the beloved dead would not be so bright, so perfect, perhaps so soon, if the Thessalonians allowed themselves to be misled with regard to it.

Our gathering together.—The peculiar Greek word is the same as that used in Hebrews 10:25 of the assembling to the Lord’s Supper, and nowhere else, so that some have interpreted it in the same sense here. In verb form it is thus used in 1Thessalonians 4:17. The close connection between the two “gatherings together” may be seen in 1Corinthians 11:26. The “our” means the meeting of the dead and the quick together.

2 Thessalonians 2:1. ἐπισυν., a term whose verb was already in use for the muster of saints to the messianic reign.—σαλ. “get unsettled”. Epictetus uses ἀποσαλεύεσθαι for the unsettling of the mind by sophistries (3:25), and the nearest equivalent for νοῦς here is our “mind”. This mental agitation (aor.) results in θροεῖσθαι = nervous fear (Wrede, 48 f.) in prospect of the imminent end.

adds and our gathering together unto Him, remembering what he has written in 1 Thessalonians 4:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:10 concerning the reunion of the living with departed saints at Christ’s coming. The corresponding verb appears in the promise of Jesus (Matthew 24:31; Mark 13:27): “He shall gather togetherHis elect from the four winds;” comp. the echoes of our Lord’s sayings on the Last Things noted in 1 Thessalonians 4:13 to 1 Thessalonians 5:11.

Some of their teachers declared that “the day of the Lord was already come;” and it was reported that Paul himself had written to this effect (2 Thessalonians 2:2). The Church was in danger of falling into mischievous deception (2 Thessalonians 2:3). That they may “prove the prophesyings” addressed to them on this subject (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21), the Apostle gives them a token or omen of the Second Coming, which indeed he had already supplied in his previous ministry (2 Thessalonians 2:5). He foresees that before Christ’s return in judgement there must be a supreme manifestation of evil (2 Thessalonians 2:3

our gathering together unto him—the consummating or final gathering together of the saints to Him at His coming, as announced, Mt 24:31; 1Th 4:17. The Greek noun is nowhere else found except in Heb 10:25, said of the assembling together of believers for congregational worship. Our instinctive fears of the judgment are dispelled by the thought of being gathered together UNTO Him ("even as the hen gathereth her chickens under her wings"), which ensures our safety.2 Thessalonians 2:1 Paul warneth the Thessalonians against the groundless

surmise that the day of Christ was near at hand,

2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 showing that it would be preceded by a great apostacy,

and that the man of sin would be first revealed, and

by his wicked impostures draw many into perdition.

7Then the beast was permitted to wage war against the saints and conquer them, and it was given authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation. 8And all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

Amadeus refused the teaching of the word of God concerning the second coming and the rapture, and used the proverb to dismiss the words teaching on the matter, as if it came from man and needed a rebuke.

Am I a liar? As in Paul's words it is written:

"God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written..." Rom 3:4

You seem to have no interest in discussing, but only in force-feeding. I don't think that is how Jesus did it.

I believe that I only quoted what was written and I did not direct the post to any person. How could it be me rebuking anyone?

The man of sin is revealed also in the book of revelation

The papacy; which claims it is God's voice on earth and takes the title of Jesus Christ " The Great High Priest of The Church" , killed 100 million saints.

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil 4:11

Give God the glory always!

He refused

Amadeus refused the teaching of the word of God concerning the second coming and the rapture,

I wasn't even in the discussion before I posted the proverb. When was it that I refused any teaching?

and used the proverb to dismiss the words teaching on the matter, as if it came from man and needed a rebuke.

If that were what I did you might be correct. Since it is not what I did nor was it my purpose, I believe that it is time to end this.

Give God the glory at all times.
