The 2 Kinds of Faith of Abraham

Its natural to believe God without hearing him?

I always believed in God, I was raised knowing about God and Jesus and always believed.
Ypou kewn about himbeforehe informed you whohe is ?
What? How do you get that twisted to say we turn God?
We either we turn to him after hearing his voice he or he turn to us after hearing our confession
You need to pay better attention before you claim someone says something.

I have been telling you faith comes from hearing the gospel.
You however teach something from teachers that are not true. You teach that God empowers us to believe and obey.
You act like there is a special empowering before someone believes and obeys to make them believe and obey.
That is not scripture.

Not before while they are empower . Jesus did the will of the father with delight Yoked with Christ the Son of mans load was made lighter .

Same difference . faith the power of God comes from hearing the gospel

Give us your interpretation of Philippians 2:13-14

.

I keep explaining them and you don't listen.

We have to believe that we have to obey Jesus.
Look at all the scriptures where we are told to obey, the whole Bible says it.
In the New Testament it starts with John the baptizer.
Why don't you ever address the scriptures I give? All you do is post the scriptures about believe and you ignore the obey ones.
Because you will not address the scripture the Lord have provided for me to use in our discussion. And I did address some of them but you keep applying works in discipleship in living a life of repentance with God as if for salvation.

God works in the saved. That is about after one is saved and given the Holy Spirit. God works in us to will and do what pleases Him. You know how God does that? He does that after He puts His Spirit in the person and the saved person feels His love and wants to please Him and stay in His love.

Because you will not address the scripture the Lord have provided for me to use in our discussion. And I did address some of them but you keep applying works in discipleship in living a life of repentance with God as if for salvation.
I keep explaining all scriptures. It is you who ignores the scriptures. God isn't going to be part of you trying to tell me His written Word says we don't have to obey except believe.

You must think God puts confidence in man in being able to repent from all sins when He knows man is sinful and cannot do it without His intervention just as they cannot save themselves and so He has to do it by asking us to believe Him .

John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. 24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

You must think God puts confidence in man in being able to repent from all sins when He knows man is sinful and cannot do it without His intervention just as they cannot save themselves and so He has to do it by asking us to believe Him .
That is not scripture, and it goes against God's Word.
John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. 24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
That scripture proves what I say! The people BELIEVED, but they were not acceptable to Jesus.
If a person wants to be accepted by Jesus, they have to do what he says.

That is not scripture, and it goes against God's Word.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

You just have a problem applying His words elsewhere about how we are to live that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ also known as discipleship also known as running that race which is why it is separate from salvation.
That scripture proves what I say! The people BELIEVED, but they were not acceptable to Jesus.
If a person wants to be accepted by Jesus, they have to do what he says.
Since the born again of the Spirit moment was to happen after His ascension for when anyone believes in him are saved, even for His remaining disciples on the day of Pentecost and for every other believer afterwards, the scripture I had posted was not to that effect, but towards the fact that Jesus held no confidence in those who believe because He knew what was in them; their sinful nature, because as He pointed out elsewhere, no matter how much the spirit is willing the flesh is weak, and therefore what is impossible with man to repent from all sins, is possible with God by believing in Him on how we are saved because He came to destroy the works of the devil in our lives so we can follow Him.

Matthew 26:11Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Matthew 19:25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.... 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

That is why it is written that the just shall live by faith in Jesus Christ that He will be their Good Shepherd to keep their eyes on Him to help them discern iniquities as well as depart from them daily; a child can do that when all they can do is trust the Lord.

Do consider your presentation of the gospel to little children. Are you going to tell them what sins are by explaining the birds and the bees to them and then tell them that sex before marriage is a sin so they can know to repent of future fornication & masturbation & adultery thru life? If they did not do that for you when you were a child, why do you think you have to tell sinners to repent from all sins now before coming to & believing in Jesus Christ for salvation when they are salves to sin and to death and they know it?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What are you going to tell a sin addict when he walks away from your call to repent from all sins when he or she or they know they cannot do it? You can see that they are in torment wanting God to save them. Are you finally going to wake up that Jesus will destroy the works of the devil in their lives, that He will set them free and not just give them eternal life for all those that believed in Him?
You want to know what works of God you are to do? Here it is again, because only God can do the works of God in us and that includes our living this life of repentance daily by believing in Him that He will help us to follow Him.
John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Why do you change what people say?
What?
God works in the saved. That is about after one is saved and given the Holy Spirit. God works in us to will and do what pleases Him. You know how God does that? He does that after He puts His Spirit in the person and the saved person feels His love and wants to please Him and stay in His love.
God works to save .We have no power to save ourselves. Our brother in the Lord, Jesus said ; not as I will the one with no power my flesh profits for zero but as you will father the one with power to raise the dead . "let there be" (the law) and there was a new creature .(the testimony)
The mark or sign of God's living abiding word .What he says comes to pass.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
You don't know that John speaks about John the baptizer before saying that?
You don't realize that John the baptizer prepared the way for Jesus by having the people repent of their sins?
We still have to do that, repent of our sins, to prepare the way for Jesus to live in our hearts.
Jesus says the prostitutes and tax collectors enter the kingdom, which is when we are washed by Jesus and receive Jesus in our heart, and at that same time seated with Jesus in heaven.
John is the witness, and what he taught is how to prepare the way for Jesus:
John 1:6There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
Matthew 3:3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.'"
Jesus says to repent for the kingdom is near:
Matthew 4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
The kingdom is near BUT NOT IN YOU until you repent of your sins.
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
When we are saved we receive Jesus' Spirit in our heart, and we are placed with him in heaven.
Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
Colossians 3:1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Colossians 1:13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
1 Corinthians 6:17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
Colossians 3:3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
God works to save .We have no power to save ourselves. Our brother in the Lord, Jesus said ; not as I will the one with no power my flesh profits for zero but as you will father the one with power to raise the dead . "let there be" (the law) and there was a new creature .(the testimony)
The mark or sign of God's living abiding word .What he says comes to pass.
You should not add to His words like that brother, as if He was inferring that meaning because He did have power to lay His life down and to take it up again because He is God as well.
John 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
You don't know that John speaks about John the baptizer before saying that?
John was bearing witness to Jesus as prophesied and when saying John 1:12-13, John was not talking about John the Baptist.
You don't realize that John the baptizer prepared the way for Jesus by having the people repent of their sins?
We still have to do that, repent of our sins, to prepare the way for Jesus to live in our hearts.
John the Baptist prepared the way for how believers can believe that believing in Jesus Christ is how one receives the remission of sins forever for how they got the gift of the Holy Ghost forever ( Acts 10:43-44 ) whereas John the Baptist's water baptism was about water baptism of repentance for the remission of sins past for why John the Baptist rebuked the Pharisees that they should show works unto repentance rather than just receive his water baptism.
The Good News in Jesus Christ is all about how one receives the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost by believing in Jesus Christ whereas John the Baptist's water baptism set the stepping stone for believing Him since many were believing that water baptism unto repentance was how they were getting remission of sins that were past.
Mark 1: 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Jesus says the prostitutes and tax collectors enter the kingdom, which is when we are washed by Jesus and receive Jesus in our heart, and at that same time seated with Jesus in heaven.
John is the witness, and what he taught was how to prepare the way for Jesus:
John 1:6There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
Matthew 3:3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.'"
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Hopefully by His grace & by His help, you shall see how to apply His words rightly now for how sinners can receive the remission of sins forever & the gift of the Holy Ghost forever for how they are saved by believing Jesus Christ at His word..
That does not mean there is no race to run in being His disciples because there are consequences for defiling the temple of God with works of the flesh or any iniquity that denies Him, because one can be excommunicated from attending the Marriage Supper in Heaven for when the Bridegroom comes. Those saints & former believers left behind, it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Stripes will be coming. Hebrews 12:3-8 & Luke 12:40-49 Better to repent now with His help in discerning the lies and iniquities so He can help you repent from them then to have Him forcibly remove it off of that foundation the hard way and yet still saved.
1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
You just have a problem applying His words elsewhere about how we are to live that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ also known as discipleship also known as running that race which is why it is separate from salvation.
No such thing as being saved being different than salvation.
Since the born again of the Spirit moment was to happen after His ascension for when anyone believes in him are saved, even for His remaining disciples on the day of Pentecost and for every other believer afterwards, the scripture I had posted was not to that effect, but towards the fact that Jesus held no confidence in those who believe because He knew what was in them; their sinful nature, because as He pointed out elsewhere, no matter how much the spirit is willing the flesh is weak, and therefore what is impossible with man to repent from all sins, is possible with God by believing in Him on how we are saved because He came to destroy the works of the devil in our lives so we can follow Him.
Only the devil would be behind people being taught and believing they don't have to and can't repent of their sins to get saved.
Matthew 26:11Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
That was about staying awake all night.
Matthew 19:25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Where do you ever get that it means the person doesn't have to obey? Everything is possible for those who obey God. His words are Spirit and life.
1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.... 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
That is why it is written that the just shall live by faith in Jesus Christ that He will be their Good Shepherd to keep their eyes on Him to help them discern iniquities as well as depart from them daily; a child can do that when all they can do is trust the Lord.
The just shall live by faith does not mean you don't obey. Living by faith means believing and obeying Jesus.
Do consider your presentation of the gospel to little children. Are you going to tell them what sins are by explaining the birds and the bees to them and then tell them that sex before marriage is a sin so they can know to repent of future fornication & masturbation & adultery thru life?
Little children already belong and when they get older you better teach them what sexual sins are. When they are old enough to repent of their sins and want to die to the sins of the world and live to please Jesus then they can receive the Holy Spirit.
How do you get you don't teach children what sins are and what God wants us to do? Children have to be taught to obey their parents.
If they did not do that for you when you were a child, why do you think you have to tell sinners to repent from all sins now before coming to & believing in Jesus Christ for salvation when they are salves to sin and to death and they know it?
They have to repent of their sins to be saved.
You really think that a person is going to admit to being a sinner and not even know what sins are? Get real.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What are you going to tell a sin addict when he walks away from your call to repent from all sins when he or she or they know they cannot do it?
Telling God you repent of sins and you are crucify your sinful nature with Christ and rise to live a new life obeying him is what all did and have to do.

If after confessing and repenting of your sins and are saved, then if there are sins you have a hard time with, Jesus helps.
No such thing as no one being able to stop any sin.
There are people who aren't saved and they lose weight and stop over eating and people who stop smoking and get married and stop fornicating, etc.
To pretend no one can obey anything God says is just untruth.
You can obey your parents and your teacher, your boss, the government, etc. You definitely can obey Jesus and what he says to get saved.
You can see that they are in torment wanting God to save them. Are you finally going to wake up that Jesus will destroy the works of the devil in their lives, that He will set them free and not just give them eternal life for all those that believed in Him?
You are hindering people from getting saved.
You want to know what works of God you are to do? Here it is again, because only God can do the works of God in us and that includes our living this life of repentance daily by believing in Him that He will help us to follow Him.
No such thing as no one being able to believe and obey God.
John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
You have to believe on Jesus, and he is the Word of God. The Word of God says repent or perish.

God works to save .We have no power to save ourselves.
You don't acknowledge the scriptures.

Acts 2:40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

Save yourselves by obeying Jesus.

Our brother in the Lord, Jesus said ; not as I will the one with no power my flesh profits for zero but as you will father the one with power to raise the dead .
Jesus said literally eating his flesh will do nothing for them. Some of his disciples thought to eat his flesh was to literally eat his flesh.
Jesus tells us that OBEYING HIM is eating his flesh.
"let there be" (the law) and there was a new creature .(the testimony)

The mark or sign of God's living abiding word .What he says comes to pass.
You have to believe and obey Him.

God works to save .We have no power to save ourselves. Our brother in the Lord, Jesus said ; not as I will the one with no power my flesh profits for zero but as you will father the one with power to raise the dead . "let there be" (the law) and there was a new creature .(the testimony)

The mark or sign of God's living abiding word .What he says comes to pass.
You not only don't understand that to literally eat his flesh profits nothing, you don't even know that Jesus raised himself.

JESUS IS THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE.

John 10:18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."

John 2:19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;

Do you think Paul is speaking of himself doing evil?
Paul convey that running that race also has the consequence of losing the rewards of crowns and the risk of being a castaway by failing to keep our bodies under subjection.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Romans 12:1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Paul convey that running that race also has the consequence of losing the rewards of crowns and the risk of being a castaway by failing to keep our bodies under subjection.
No such thing as rewards in the scriptures. The scriptures say reward.
The gift, the reward, the inheritance, the treasure, the crown, the promise…it is all eternal life in the kingdom of God.

And Paul was NOT speaking about himself doing evil in that one scripture you quoted.

You not only don't understand that to literally eat his flesh profits nothing, you don't even know that Jesus raised himself.

Hi thanks for the reply

You would first need to under the parable "drink blood of mankind or eat flesh " .

It simply means to offer ones own spirit life in jeapordy of one own spirit .

Catholics teach wafers literaly become blood . JWs are forbade from taking blood in .Neither look to the spiritual meaning of the parable.

The Bible teaches the life of the flesh is in the blood but literal blood with out the essence of spirit life is dead. If not walking through the cemetery and pouring out blood on dead bones would be the gospel.

Both blood and water as metaphors are used to represent the unseen work of the Holy Spirit pouring out his Spirit on flesh .

The Son of man did not raise his own self from the grave or tomb called the heart of the earth or belly of the Whale

If Jesus didn't raise himself, like he said he did, then you make him a disobedient son, because he said his Father commanded him to do it.

If Jesus didn't raise himself, like he said he did, then you make him a disobedient son, because he said his Father commanded him to do it.
The Son of man Jesus our brother in the Lord said no such thing as he raised him self up. If the father commanded him then the father gave him power

The father also commanded there be light.etc . The son of man was not born until thousands of year later .Power is given to the Son of man ,No power comes from dying flesh signified as sinful . Yet Jesus knew no sin yoked with the father

The Son of man Jesus our brother in the Lord said no such thing as he raised him self up.
You don't know the scriptures or are you deliberately saying they don't say what they say.

The son is the Word of God and was always with God and was God.
