@Hitch & @Mayflower @Gregoryp @Bill @God's Truth @joestue @ChadI don't know about Andrew Wommack, I've never heard of him before. But I did read the article.
It has a few items that I disagree with, for example one of them is...
Under the New Covenant now, I believe the Lord loves a cheerful giver which is why it is nobody else's business to know if a believer is giving or not. The church & the pastors are to look to the Lord to raise up cheerful givers for the ministry otherwise their faith in God providing is dead.Nothing in scripture?
Mal 3:10; "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.
Mal 3:11; "Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes," says the LORD of hosts.
Mal 3:12; "All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land," says the LORD of hosts.
Now I believe this has to be done with the right heart. If the sole reason you're doing this is financial gain... then God probably isn't going to bless you.
An example of signs following believers is what had happened to Paul here below;Mark 16:17 IS found in most of the earliest manuscripts. This is either a deliberate mis-statement or an out-and-out lie. Also Jesus doesn't say these signs will follow the apostles, it says they will follow all believers.
Further it contradicts itself by saying...
One can hope but even those who serve Him can be close to death.it OK to pray for the sick that they might be healed, but yet...
Mark 16:17 says we can lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Why would this not be for all believers?
The article has a few other issues as well.
Ask Jesus if that is not the turbulent waters you are wading in from that dream of yours.
Although you're taking a scripture a little bit out of contents, because some of what you have quoted has a different meaning to it. The point is still correct and that is that the Miracles themselves are not the proof of the pudding as far as Faith goes.Prove everything with Jesus Christ by the scripture, sister. Miracles are not a sure sign that professing believers are abiding in Him.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
1 Timothy 6: 3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
It doesn't read to me that Andrew Wommack is keeping that commandment at all. Looking for hope in financial gains by giving, is hardly being content with what we have. His teaching is for believers to become covetous instead. Shun him.
Khundalini, an eastern mysticism, can boast of bringing about "healings and miracles". This existed before Pentecost had come with the birth of the church of Christ.Although you're taking a scripture a little bit out of contents, because some of what you have quoted has a different meaning to it. The point is still correct and that is that the Miracles themselves are not the proof of the pudding as far as Faith goes.
I mean we can look at the scripture where Jesus healed people and the Miracles that took place were because of their faith, but the Miracles didn't cause them to have faith. The Miracles were only the byproduct of them having faith in the first place.
The greatest faith is a person who believes that Jesus is Lord and Savior. The person who has never experienced any kind of miracle, and believes in their heart. This is the purest type of Faith there is, the faith like a child
Dont you think it funny that on one hand, Pastors will say , we do not live in the old Testiment. But learn from it. And then on the other hand , continue with tithing. And making anyone who does not tithe out to be a sinner.@Hitch & @Mayflower @Gregoryp @Bill @God's Truth @joestue @Chad
Under the New Covenant now, I believe the Lord loves a cheerful giver which is why it is nobody else's business to know if a believer is giving or not. The church & the pastors are to look to the Lord to raise up cheerful givers for the ministry otherwise their faith in God providing is dead.
An example of signs following believers is what had happened to Paul here below;
Acts 28:1And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita. 2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. 4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. 6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
One can hope but even those who serve Him can be close to death.
Philippians 2:26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. 27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. 28 I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
Why wouldn't God heal all the time?
#1 For the gospel sake. Easy to preach to the sick & dying when one is well, but sharing that faith while sick & dying, the sick & dying may listen more.
1 Corinthians 9:22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
#2 For keeping us humble as Paul testified to a thorn in the flesh which I believe as described as the messenger of Satan to buffet him in the flesh is what we would all label as mental illness because he was "hearing voices."
2 Corinthians 12:6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
#3 God may be calling us Home
Philippians 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Indeed. If the pastor & churches relied on God to provide by raising up cheerful givers for the church to run on, they would see God's indescribable gift.Dont you think it funny that on one hand, Pastors will say , we do not live in the old Testiment. But learn from it. And then on the other hand , continue with tithing. And making anyone who does not tithe out to be a sinner.
So the Pastors push tithing your money, even after Jesus says, God wants our hearts.
If they only understood faith
If Pastors lived soley on faith the wealth of thier parish would be outstanding.
Store up your riches in heaven.
Ya it is kind of hard for a church / pastor to live on faith. Lol well you will have your chance very soon now.Indeed. If the pastor & churches relied on God to provide by raising up cheerful givers for the church to run on, they would see God's indescribable gift.
2 Corinthians 9:5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness. 6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:.....
9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. 10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness 11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; 13 Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men; 14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
But as it is, in these days, the churches are liken unto Laodiceans; where they rely on pledged money & expected tithings that they have rather than on God to provide.
Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Kind of hard for a church or the pastor of that church to preach to the poor members about having faith in God to provide when the church relies on pledged of giving and tithings, thus the church's faith in God to provide is dead in the eyes of the poor members of the church.
One can hope & pray for their pastors & their church that God will wake them up before then.Ya it is kind of hard for a church / pastor to live on faith. Lol well you will have your chance very soon now.
Let us see who the real God is when you have 0 money.

Signs of the times.During the laying of the foundation, the apostles were given the ability to do signs and other miraculous things, as a testimony from God that what they taught were from Him. God still does miracles and heals people, but He isn't testifying to the greatest time on earth, as was done during the New Testament times. God testified to the gospel by allowing the apostles to raise people who have been dead for days, and to give sight to those who were born blind and cause those paralyzed since birth to walk. God still heals people and does miraculous things, but God isn't doing some of the things that were done in the Bible times.
No one is speaking in tongues and prophesying anymore, for the scriptures are finished, and we have everything we need to know to be saved and lead us to eternal life.
Even in the New Testament times, the people didn't have to give ten percent of their income every month. A person was to be a cheerful giver, and those who didn't have a lot of money and gave, they gave MORE than the ten percent the rich gave!
There are no more churches anymore as in the Bible times. All the denominations nowadays teach falseness to some degree or another. They want money to pay for their life and to keep a big building paid for. The churches in the New Testament time were in people's homes!
Some people are gifted with more money in this world, and can give it. We are to help our own family in the best way we can. The churches in the New Testament times were told to help the widows in their own family, and the churches weren't even to help widows unless they had but one husband and were a help to the church.

The Dangers of Tuning into Andrew Wommack - Christian Research Institute From Colorado I believe, yet another false teacher. The Lord put it on my heart when i came across his Youtube video that he was a false prophet working for the devil.
You are badly mistaken, for God's Truth matters. No, you dont know what you are saying.
Every denomination has its plusses and misuses, God is well aware of all these things. And He condemns no one who tries, not even the JW. And there are many others you do not know of nor accept.
Despite all our differences, God Loves all mankind, He created everyone, and all are His Children. It is not our job to judge who is or who is not . What are job is, is to continue reaching out to both those who do not know Jesus and to those who do.
What matters most, is that each of us can learn to fall in love with God. Individually and collectively. And to forgive and recieve forgiveness
Ok and what about you, you say i follow the bible. But you will only follow it as far as your understanding goes. You are badly mistaken, for God's Truth matters.
False doctrines are why there are divisions among Christians.
Paul warns us not to be of this world and say we follow mere men.
There are the Catholics that claim succession from Peter.
There are the Baptists who claim they follow after John the baptizer.
There are the JW's and the Seventh Day Adventists, who follow Charles Taze and Ellen White.
There are the Lutherans and Calvinists, and Wesleyans, ETC.
We are not to believe and teach falseness.
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
1 Timothy 1:3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer
Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse!
Galatians 1:9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!
2 Thessalonians 3:6 Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from any brother who leads an undisciplined life that is not in keeping with the tradition you received from us.
2 Thessalonians 3:14 Take note of anyone who does not obey the instructions we have given in this letter. Do not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1 Timothy 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
2 Timothy 2:26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
Reject False Doctrines
1 Timothy 6:3If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
Everyone makes those judgements. It happens for a veriety of reasons. What is important isnt just reading scripture, but hearing what is said.Gregoryp who named you a judge over who is a good preacher? Who named any of us? Nobody! If you make a judgment of this kind, you are in disobedience
Best look at the 7 churches in Revelation as He will cast out those who are not abiding in Him as they ought to be; Revelation 2:18-25 being an example of saved believers being left behind for not departing from iniquity..Every denomination has its plusses and misuses, God is well aware of all these things. And He condemns no one who tries, not even the JW. And there are many others you do not know of nor accept.
God loves all mankind and although He had created every one from the womb, not all are His children.Despite all our differences, God Loves all mankind, He created everyone, and all are His Children. It is not our job to judge who is or who is not .
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. What are job is, is to continue reaching out to both those who do not know Jesus and to those who do.
What matters most, is that each of us can learn to fall in love with God. Individually and collectively. And to forgive and recieve forgiveness
In all things, always keep your eyes on Jesus Christ because the Bridegroom will be coming soon. That is what the real indwelling Holy Spirit is doing in keeping your focus on the Son whereas the spirits of the antichrist; antichrist meaning as used in scripture; "instead of Christ", would take your focus off of the Son to themselves to chase after them for their visitations with signs & lying wonders, thus seducing believers in seeking to receive what has been assumed to be the Holy Ghost again after a sign when it is not.It is in all things we must use the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, that is why Jesus sent to us the Holy Spirit in the first place
