brother of James, and Joses, and Judas

Gal 1:19; But I did not see any other of the apostles except James, the Lord's brother.

Jude 1:1; Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

The part that is considered, infallible, goes back to Jesus telling Peter , what you allow on earth will be allowed in heaven ( paraphasing )

In the Catholic church , they trace thier lineage back to Peter, being the First Pope.

( an interesting fact . When builders were working on the church at St Peters, in the Vatican. They were digging under the building to shore up the foundation. While doing this they discovered a tomb. Doctors were called in to look at the body. Based on what was found. They determined it was the body of Peter. The doctors stated, the person had been crucified upside down. There was other evidence that gave proof to the same conclusion. --- to me , the thing i find most interesting. Where the body was found, directly under the alter at St Peters church. [ Jesus called Peter Rock " and upon this rock i will build my church ])

Just something to think about.
There is no way I believe Peter would approve of surplanting Christ as the corner stone of the church. Shows how the RCC ego works to overshadow the Son of God.

Jesus Rejected at Nazareth
Mark 6:1 And he went out thence; and cometh into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
6:2 And when Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue: and the many hearing him were astonished, saying, Whence hath this man these things? and what the wisdom given this man, and what mean such mighty works wrought by his hands?
6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they stumbled in him.
6:4 And Jesus said to them [that] A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
6:5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick, and healed them.
6:6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages teaching.

Matthew 13:55 Is not this the son of the carpenter? is not his mother called Mariam? and his brethren, James and Joseph, and Simon, and Judah?
13:56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
13:57 And they stumbled in him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his country, and in his house.
In the Greek translations there are no differences in the words reguarding syblings , 1st cousins and 2nd cousins.

Why would you say that. ? Jesus stated to Peter ,

Then Peter spoke up, "you are the Christ" he said "the son of the Living God"
Jesus replied, "Simon son of Jonah, you are a happy man. Because it was not flesh and blood that revealed this to you but my Father in heaven . So now I say to you, you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church.

I looked up the name Peter to see what it means and in the encyclopedia it states that the name Peter means Rock,it's derived from the Greek.

Psa_118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
Isa_28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Eph_2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
1Pe_2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe_2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
Peter knew who the Corner Stone was/is and he knew it was not himself

In the Greek translations there are no differences in the words regarding siblings , 1st cousins and 2nd cousins.
Blind adherence to tradition is poor Bible study
Where do the scriptures state that those identified as siblings to Jesus were cousins ???
I am sure that the Greeks and Romans had words for cousin, nephew, niece, uncle - these words were important in respect to delineating families and inheritance rights.

Families and relatives have been part of human life from the beginning - you bet they had exact words for those whom they loved or squabbled with.

God gets upset with mans stubborness, and so do i

Dear Bill,

When you talk of man's stubborness, you should first look at the errors of the catholics, which are against The Truth in The Word, many, not all, have been listed in previous posts by many of us.

You cannot call others stubborn when they are choosing not to accept the errors of the RCC, clear and serious errors.

Do you accept the pope is nkt of a line go Peter?

Do you accept the RCC has changed the 10 commandments that were written in stone and not one dot or titter can be changed in the Word of God?

Do you accept they are worshipping idols, putting Jesus back on the cross and idols of Mary?

Do you accept these and those noted by brother B-A-C are errors by the RCC, and are still carried out today by the CC?

If you accept they are errors, can you not see why others cannot be part of them?

If you do not accept them as errors; I say no more, because I reply in his love, points have been made which are clearly wrong I cannot follow or be attached to such errors.

Righteousness and sin cannot mix, they are opposites. I pray to the Father, through Jesus, not Mary, not a priest, through Jesus Christ our Lord, our Saviour, our Intercessor of all prayers.

Peace be with you

Rev 18:4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;
18:5 for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities."

When the above passage was written there was no RCC . IMO God was/is speaking of Judaism, not RCC.

Revelation 18 is prophecy concerning the fall and destruction of Babylon that great city - as the original city of Babylon was still in ruins and never dwelt in again it is certainly not referring to Babylon in Mesopotamia
As Babylon is the source of false religion that is similar to the stories and doctrines of Moses and the Hebrews, but nevertheless of different gods - so Rome is from the referred to in similar terms.
For Roman Catholicism is similar to the gospels and the doctrines of the NT but is of other gods. Even as a practicing Catholic I knew that what was written and what we did were two very different ways.
Rev 18 - read the chapter

2 And he called out with a mighty voice,
“Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!
It has become a dwelling place of demons, a haunt of every foul spirit, a haunt of every foul and hateful bird;
3 For all nations have drunk the wine of her impure passion, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich with the wealth of her wantonness.”
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,
“Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; - (lots of Spirit-filled Christians who can pray in tongues remain with the RCC and still pray to Mary!!)
5 for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

9 And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and were wanton with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning;
10 they will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say, “Alas! alas! thou great city, thou mighty city, Babylon! In one hour has thy judgment come.”

23 and the light of a lamp shall shine in thee no more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard in thee no more;
for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, and all nations were deceived by thy sorcery.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth.”

Very high probability that Rome will be nuked by Russia (the warning given at Fatima 1917)

Pope Boniface VIII said “We declare, assert, define and pronounce to be subject to the Roman Pontiff is to every creature altogether necessary for salvation… I have the authority of the King of Kings. I am all in all, and above all,
so that God Himself and I, the Vicar of Christ, have but one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do. What therefore, can you make of me but God?”

Pope Pius IX said, “I alone… am the successor of the apostles, the vicar of Jesus Christ. I am the way, the truth, and the life…”

Pope Pius X declared, “The Pope is not simply the representative of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, he is Jesus Christ Himself, under the veil of the flesh. Does the Pope speak? It is Jesus Christ who is speaking,
hence, when anyone speaks of the Pope, it is not necessary to examine but to obey.”

Pope John Paul II said, “The truth of the Assumption, defined by Pius XII, is reaffirmed by the Second Vatican Council, which thus expresses the Church’s faith: “Preserved free from all guilt of original sin, the Immaculate Virgin
was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory upon the completion of her earthly sojourn. She was exalted by the Lord as Queen of the Universe … For the Mother of Christ is glorified as ‘Queen of the Universe‘.”

Pope Benedict XV declared, “To such extent did Mary suffer and almost die with her suffering and dying Son; to such extent did she surrender her maternal rights over her Son for man’s salvation ...
that we may rightly say she redeemed the human race together with Christ.”

“If it is impossible to separate what God has united, it is also certain that you cannot find Jesus except with Mary and through Mary.” (Pope Pius X: Allocution to the Franciscans, November 12, 1910.) — [p. 14, no. 20]

A copy and paste from a friend posting on another thread

"The Vatican is indeed the progeny of Babylon and their pope, the man of sin who proclaims himself equal to the Lord. In turn, The Vatican has given rise to innumerable schismatic sects and movements over the centuries;
the myriad Eastern churches being the eldest with the Reformations being the younger. The fruit of the poisonous tree is extant throughout.
A poisonous tree yields poisonous fruit ... poisonous fruit surrenders poisonous seeds ... and poisonous seeds produce more poisonous trees.
Not only were Catholic authorities responsible for shedding the blood of the holy ones but the same evil rests upon the shoulders of Reformed (Protestant) authorities.
The horrific persecution of Anabaptists, who were hunted for sport by Catholic and Reformed authorities alike, bears witness to how this world is drunk upon the blood of the Lord's faithful.
They hated Him first.
The persecution of Jews is also a shameful witness of their apostate depravity. This hatred of Jews was already present in the centuries following the last apostle and reached its zenith with the advent of the new Roman state religion --- Catholicism --- and it spread like a disease across the earth. Jews have suffered unspeakable evil at hands of many on this earth and again, this is an evil both Catholic and Reformed authorities have perpetrated with religious zeal.
In their insolence they blame Jews for the crucifixion of the Lord."

Jesus said...
Mat 23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
Mat 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
Mat 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Luk_11:50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
Luk_11:51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.
@Downunder i believed as do for the first 40 years of my life. I have read the chapters as you have. God is gracious to our understanding, Amen?

The main thing I dont like about the hierarchy of the RCC, is their inability to admit error about things they have done, as if they are without error, innerancy I think its called. I dont apply this to all followers of RCC, and some priests in some parishes follow the leading of the Lord regardless of what the papacy says. I see the RCC sort of like (just sort of) the cities of the Israel versus the cities of Judah. The northern tribe worshiped their own way and was larger more powerful nation most of the time than Judah, which Israel saw as vindication of being the true nation of faith. But just like the cities of Israel, the cities of Judah were also corrupted in soooo many ways, but considered themselves more holy because they werent as bad as Israel.
I have met many pastors of born again churches that will not admit error...No differenct there

Ephesians 4:
11 And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
these are who Rome has slaughtered over the centuries and to whom Revelation 18 is about.

I agree RCC has martyred plenty, one was too many. Who was Jesus speaking to and of in the verses i quoted above? We will not agree on our understanding of The Revelation of Jesus Christ chapter 18 being about RCC. That is okey have a sister and brother that believe as you do and i love them, even love the brother who is lost in the RCC :)

It is common for someone who was catholic then leaves to blame everything on the Catholics no matter if your feelings were true or false.

The same is true from almost everyone who leaves one church and goes to another. Without really understanding why , the person will place blame on the previous church.
